Cajun.

We had a great day offshore with low sea state and amazing view of over 15 humpback whales. We were on the southwest corner of the bank when we found two different groups of humpback whales feeding deep. In  one group we had 6 animals that included Canopy, Twine, and Cajun and calf. We never got close to this group so were unable to identify the other individuals. This group was feeding deep as they surfaced after lunging at depth.

The second group of humpbacks included Perseid, Pele, Jabiru and calf, Snare and Twine. This group was also feeding deep in almost the same exact location as the first group. At one point in time, both groups collided with each other and one humpback had to spy hop to figure out which way his or her group went. Bumper whales!

It was so much fun to watch these amazing and endangered animals so close to out boat. And especially nice to see mothers and calves of this year. Before we knew it, it was time to head home as we said goodbye to one and all. But before we left the area, our captain spotted a very small ocean sunfish just off our port bow. This is our first sighting of an ocean sunfish all season and what a cutie this little one was.
